Don't Miss

Today’s Haul – October 7th

I told you it was a lot! Well, I am nothing if not determined…I managed to FINALLY get it all listed! Woohoo!! No thanks to Amazon taking forever to process new listings but I checked back and now it is all up to date and was able to be completed.

So here we go!

The best of the bunch today (and there was a bunch):

First I’ll start with the 8 bags of plush that I picked up. I don’t just grab every bag they have (I have to spot at least one or two things worth selling) but I do go through each one when I get it home to make sure there isn’t anything in a bag that I didn’t realize I could sell. There often is!

Bag #1 – paid $2.97 and listed 8 plush. I will make $83.10 on this bag alone.

Bag #2 – paid $2.97 and wound up throwing out the entire bag even though there were plush I could list. It smelled so badly. I have lucked out and most of the bags I bring home smell fresh inside but all the plush in this one reeked of stale cigar smoke. Just awful.

Bag #3 – paid $3.97 and listed 6 plush. I will make $35.92 on this bag.

Bag #4 – paid $3.97 and listed 5 plush. I will make $47.88 on this bag.

Bag #5 – paid $2.97 and listed 5 plush. I will make $56.54 on this bag.

Bag #6 – paid $4.97 and listed both plush in the bag. I will make $49.16 on this bag.

Bag #7 – paid $2.97 and listed 1 plush. I will make $24.11 on this bag.

Bag #8 – paid $3.97 and listed 3 plush. I will make $55.33 on this bag.

I picked up a few Build a Bear animals for $1.97 each and listed them for $20, $20, $25, and $35. I also listed the clothing they came in separately for about $10 an outfit.

The Walking Dead plush – paid $1 and listed for $25.

Dance Star Mickey – paid $6.97 and listed for $55.

The singing Frosty the Snowman – paid $2.97 and listed for $55.

The Animal Planet Safari Train – paid $4.97 and listed for $55.

The Vintage Corning Ware Loaf pan in original box – paid $2.97 and listed for $45.

The Sharp Memo Master – paid $1.97 and listed $25.

The swan boat – paid $1.97 and listed for $25.

The Soft puffy elmo – paid $1 and listed for $45.

The Sweetie Pie Kid Tessa – paid $1 and listed for $45.

The Vermont Teddy Bear – paid $2.97 and listed for $55.

The Dog Lab Princess Plush – paid $1.97 and listed for $75 (these go for a lot … the are great to find!)

The Large Laying on his belly Elmo – paid $1 and listed for $45.

The silicone cake molds were $3.97 each and I listed both for $35.

The Kermit plush – paid $1 and listed for $35.

The Ringling Bros Elephant plush – paid $4.97 and listed for $45.

The Winnie the Pooh Dome Tent – paid $2.97 and listed for $75.

The Dress Rehearsal Bear set – paid $2.97 and listed for $45.

The Barbie Ornaments – paid 97 cents each and listed one for $35. The other I will list for $35 when Amazon realizes it isn’t Hazmat (no idea why they only flagged one of them when I created both listings).

The only duds were the stinky bag of plush that I lost $2.97 on and the Barbie ornament I am waiting to clear.

The bottom line:

Total items listed: 68

Total Buy Cost: $105.20

Total Sales Value: $1727.89

Total Net Profit: $1131.55

So, a very, very, very good profit for today but I’ll be honest…. I did a LOT of work. I spent 2 hours shopping for all of it and at about 5 hours listing (not all steady but coming back and doing some here and there around helping the kids with homework, making dinner, etc). It took so long because I had to create a bunch of listings and because Amazon was moving like molasses tonight. But, now that it is finally done I am happy. If you look at the 7 total hours spent working today (totally not my norm) at least I can be happy with a potential hourly rate of $161.65. And happy I am. And tired.

I don’t know if I will have any hauls between tomorrow and the end of the weekend. If it rains Friday and the kids school fundraiser is postponed I’ll get out but otherwise I will be back for sure on Monday with more goodies to share!

  1. Hi Stacy, great haul! Are you ok with sending plush in that are missing their tush tags or the tag has been cut? And what about animated plush that the batteries have leaked. Is it ok to clean that up and send it in. Do you mention it in the condition notes?

    • Hi Leah! I am ok with plush missing tush tags or that have been cut but I generally put them as “acceptable” condition and I always note it in the condition notes. As for batteries that have leaked I have been lucky so far to only have come across that a few times and the times that I have found leaky batteries I have always just tossed the plush. I guess it is possible you could clean it up and still sell it if you verify it works with fresh batteries but so far I have just gotten frustrated and trashed the item. 🙂 But, if you do decide to list definitely make sure you put in the condition notes that they were leaky, you cleaned it up and verified it still works, etc. I think it is always better to provide as much info as possible even if it costs you a sale than to risk an upset customer later.
      Great questions!!
