Don't Miss

Today’s Haul – October 6th

Today was a very short “work” day but I still got some stuff done. I met a couple of friends for coffee in a local grocery store cafe which was very convenient for filling orders on the way out and left me enough time to swing by the local Goodwill and Menonite Thrift stores in the hour I had left before picking up my son.

Here is what I found:

The Goffa plush tiger – paid 50 cents and listed for $24.99.

The Glass Mat set – paid $2.97 and listed for $47.99.

The Disney Baby Vsmile game – paid $1 and listed for $11.48.

The Pearl Barbie – paid $2.97 and listed for $10 (should have left this one on the shelf but I am a sucker for unopened Barbies).

Endangered Civilizations DVD set – this was brand new so I thought it was worth taking a chance on at $1.97. I was wrong. I listed for $7 and will barely break even.

The Disney Princess Gift Basket – paid $3 and listed for $45.

The Grumpy Dwarf plush – paid 97 cents and listed for $35.

The Ty LuLu (from Ni Hao Kai Lan) – paid $1 and listed for $15.

The Stampin up set – still finding these! This one I had to add to Amazon and set the price at $35 (paid $3.97).

The Wrestle Mania VHS boxed set – even used this is fetching a good price. Unfortunately it is missing one VHS tape so I marked it as “acceptable” and noted it in the condition notes. Paid $4.97 and listed for $45.

I also came across three boxed Horizons Match Homeschool sets and thought I had hit the jackpot. I know from experience Homeschool info sells for a lot of money and I’ve been lucky to find it fairly regularly around here. Unfortunately, the sets were not complete and were all missing the student workbooks. I tossed the boxes and listed the teacher books only (all are in great condition with no writing or marks inside so that was a plus). I paid $14.97 each for the sets and if they had been complete I could have listed them for about $150 each. As it was the teacher books still made it worth the price though and I listed two for $45 and one for $55.

Only one item on the table didn’t make this shipment – the Cars Foam kit. I paid $1 for it and will eventually list for $10 but right now Amazon is flagging it as Hazmat so I put it aside until it clears and I can send it in.

The bottom line:

Total Items listed: 14

Total Buy Cost: $71.20

Total Sales Value: $438.96

Total Net Profit: $255.32

It has been awhile since I shared a grocery trip so I thought I would also add on the three grocery orders I filled today:

Order #1:

Total paid by customer: $39.32
Total Product cost: $11.67
Total cost to ship: $11.37
Amazon fees: $5.90
Total net profit: $10.38

Order #2:

Total paid by customer: $35.43
Total Product cost: $11.97
Total cost to ship: $8.62
Amazon fees: $5.31
Total net profit: $9.53

Order #3: (a double order)

Total paid by customer: $66.98
Total product cost: $17.34
Total cost to ship: $14.49
Amazon fees: $10.04
Total net profit: $25.11

So that quick walk through the grocery store and 15 minutes at home boxing up the shipments netted me a total of $45.02 today. Of course, this won’t make me rich but I fill an average of 10-15 orders a week right now and make an average of $10 an order so the extra $400-$600 a month is well worth my time and it is nice that these orders don’t require any upfront money until I actually have a sale.

That is it from me today. Busy, busy, busy afternoon so I’m going to relax a little before the bus gets home soon. Have a great night and I will see you tomorrow!
