How is it November already?! I guess I better get with the program! Sales are starting to pick up and they will only get stronger between now and Christmas. I probably make 30-50% of my whole yearly salary in the next 2 months so I want to make sure there is plenty in my inventory to sell. Because if these past few years have taught me anything it is that people will buy ANYTHING during the 4th quarter rush!
I ventured back out today after what felt like a long time off and it felt great to be thrifting again. So much fun! I visited two Goodwill’s in the morning and another two in the afternoon with my son. The nice part about the holiday rush starting up is not only am I making more sales the thrift stores are bursting with things to buy. I found a ton of great stuff!
Here is the best of the bunch:
The Telco Motionette Christmas Figures – I paid $3.97 for Mrs. Clause and listed her for $75 and $10 for the Elf and listed him for $125.
The Do you Know where you are game – I paid $4.97 and listed for $125.
The Sudden Shadow Decals – paid $3.97 each (picked up two – a skateboarder and a softball player) and listed for $35 each.
The Wilton Cookie Treat Pan – I picked up two of these for $1.97 each and listed for $35 each.
The Space Bag set – paid $4.97 and listed for $34.99.
The Remote wireless fan kit – paid $2.97 and listed for $45.
The Barbie sewing machine – paid $4.97 for it and listed for $45.
The Leap Frog Map set – we actually had this when my kids were younger and it is very cool. Paid $2.97 and listed for $55.
The Stampin Up Summer set – these have been selling GREAT so I snatched up this one without hesitation. Paid $2.97 and listed for $45.
The US Mail letter carrier bear – paid $1.97 and listed for $75.
The Cookie Monster hand puppet – paid $1.97 and listed for $35.
The Tow Mater Plush – paid $2.97 and listed for $45.
The Swoop Ty plush – paid $2.97 and listed for $35.
The Mary Engelbreit Box Purse -paid $1.97 and listed for $45.
I also picked up a bunch of “grab bags”:
Bag #1 – paid $2.97 for, listed 1 item, and will net $25.06.
Bag #2 – paid $1.97 for, listed 6 items, and will net $67.48.
Bag #3 – paid $3.97, listed 4 items, and will net $94.64.
Bag #4 – paid $2.97, listed 4 items, and will net $53.96.
Bag #5 – paid $1.99, listed 3 items, and will net $67.49.
The only dud was the Ashton Drake Snowbaby box. This one I picked up because it was only $4.97 and I thought it was worth a chance. Once I got it home and opened it I found it was pieces to three different sets and most of the pieces had something broken or missing on them. I tossed the whole box.
I can’t complain at all though…. it was a great thrifting day!
Total items listed: 43
Total Buy Cost: $96.19
Total Sales Value: $1539.86
Total Net Profit: $1043.95
I spent 2 hours shopping and 2 hours listing giving me a net hourly rate of $260.98. Like I said, a GREAT day!
I already took todays listed items down to my basement staging area and boxed them. I plan to get out tomorrow and Friday and spend all morning thrifting, add to the boxes, and get the shipment out Monday morning so I am ready for a brand new week next week.
With 4th quarter ramping up I will be spending all of my spare time not taken up by school, friend, and family obligations thrifting and getting as much over to Amazon as possible. Might as well cash in now while the selling is so good!
See you tomorrow!!
