Don't Miss

Today’s haul – November 21st – part 2

Phew! Between yesterday and today I got it all listed. 60 items boxed and on their way to Amazon tomorrow when UPS picks them up!

The best finds of the trip were:

I found a few Lemax Dickensvale houses – paid $6.97 for 2 and $4.97 for the other. Listed for $45, $45, and $55.

The Spode Santa and bear bowl – paid $2.97 and listed for $35.

The Betty Boop Hula Wobbler – paid $3.97 and listed for $35.

I found some Yankee candles – brand new, never lit – for only $6.97 each. I listed two for $29 and kept the third for myself.

I found another Hallmark Santa snowman playing piano – and excellent find since I just sold my second of these that this month for $75 yesterday – paid $3 and again listed for $75.

The Horseland Puzzle – paid 97 cents and listed for $35.

I found some good plush:

Skating snoopy: paid 97 cents listed for $45.
Barney: paid $1 and listed for $35.

Ty Beanie Boos Comet reindeer – paid $1.97 and listed for $35.
The Christian Mother Goose Humpty Dumpty – paid $1 and listed for $55.

Duds:
There really were not any duds this trip – only the one candle which I kept for myself … but you can’t go wrong with a large Yankee Candle for only $6.97!

The bottom line:

Total items listed: 60

Total buy cost: $158.67

Total sales value: $1868.40

Total Net Value: $1233.26 (WOW!!!)

Adding up the time I spend working on this one haul – about 8 hours total between three days (five Friday, 1 yesterday, and 2 today) and divide by my potential net profit and that gives me the potential hourly rate of: $154.15 an hour so just over 1 1/2 times my goal. Successful trip!!

  1. Hi, do you look each individual item up on your phone while in the store and do you try to be discreet about it? I really love your haul posts. I’m a stay at home mom and just starting out with the whole amazon thing. Thanks.

    • Hi Leah! When I was first starting out I did look up each individual item and tried my best to be discreet. These days I still aim for discretion when I do look up an item but for a typical haul day I only scan about 4 or 5 items. Usually they are the higher priced items that I am really unsure about. Once you have been doing this for awhile you start to get a feel for what will sell based both on prior sales and just good old gut instinct. Usually if I am wrong about an item being really profitable it is something I can at least break even on and the rest I list under “duds”. This is such a great thing for Stay at home Mom’s.. I have been one for 8 years now and never dreamed I would make such good money while still being home for my family. And it is so much fun!
