Today was a huge day for thrifting! So many goodies at every store I visited. I got a late start because I had an errand to run first thing after dropping off my son but I headed out towards the thrift stores around 10am and shopped until 1pm. After doing so well at a non-Goodwill yesterday I decided it was a good idea to start my day at the Salvation Army before making the normal Goodwill rounds. It was a smart move as I got a bunch of really good finds there and still had time to hit three Goodwill’s after.
The best finds of the day were:
The Precious Moments Lamb – paid $2.97 and listed for $45.
The Bob the Builder Kurt Adler ornament – paid $1.97 and listed for $45. They don’t make new Bob the Builder stuff and the show is still popular with kids so this was a great find!
I found 6, new in box, Burger Kind Disney Movie glasses. I have sold these before and they do really well. I paid $2.97 each for them and listed them between $15 and $35 each depending on where other sellers were pricing.
The Bambi ornament – paid $1.97 and listed for $35.
The Lowes Build and Grow Pet Treat Keeper – these have sold well for me in the past and I always grab them when I see them – paid $1.97 and listed for $35.
The Dancing Brobee (from Yo Gabba Gabba) – paid $2.97 and listed for $45.
The Blue Bunnytown plush – paid $1.97 and listed for $35.
The Walk and Wag Pluto – paid $1.97 and listed for $55.
The Disney Playhouse Stanley plush – never even heard of this guy but picked him up because he said Disney – paid $1.97 and listed for $45.
The duds of the bunch were:
The Christopher Columbear by Ganz – he was missing a lot of his outfit – paid $3.99.
The Southpark Kenny doll – he was missing his hood. I really should have realized this given I was a fan back in college but I didn’t and it cost me $2.97.
The Jello Jiggler molds – I decided to keep them. The kids will love jello jigglers in the shape of Christmas! Paid 97 cents for both.
The Scentsy Bar in a pine tree sent – decided to keep this too because I have a Scentsy warmer I’m waiting to break out for the holidays. Paid $3.97.
The Fly ink refill – something told me as I was picking it up that I had burned with this before but I didn’t listed to myself and it cost me $4.97. They were only selling for $4.99 on Amazon.
Then there were two items Amazon flagged as Hazmat ( a Butterick pattern and a CD player – clearly dangerous items. lol) so they have to wait to be cleared before I can send them.
All of that and even with the 44 items I listed today I still have a huge bag of items that I have to create listings for. It was just too much for one day and I don’t want to spend any more time working today so it will have to wait.
Today’s bottom line:
Items listed: 44
Total Buy Cost: $147.86
Total Sales Value: $1179.35
Total Net Profit: $720.41
I worked about 6 hours which brings me over the goal of $100 potential profit per hour worked at $120.06. Another great day!
Tomorrow I will round out the week and cap off a full two weeks of thrifting with one last trip. I think I may take a ride out to another non-Goodwill that I haven’t been to in awhile and usually has a great selection of plush and Christmas items and I’ll surely hit at least a couple of Goodwill’s too.
Next week I won’t likely do much, if any, thrifting because of the holiday and the kids being off from school … and after the whirlwind two weeks I’ve had I am definitely looking forward to the break!
See you tomorrow!!
