Don't Miss

Today’s haul – November 17th

It is a new week and off I went to make the rounds this morning. I hit four Goodwills but sadly only two of them had any real thrifting finds today (although one had beautiful holiday dresses for my girls so it wasn’t a total loss).

As you can see from the picture I stumbled upon a large collection of unopened collectible figures at one Goodwill and while some were worth my time quite a few that I picked up I will only break even on. Still I did fairly well overall and had a nice morning out shopping.

Let’s look at how I did!

The best finds:

The Lolita New Years Eve glass – I paid $2.97 and listed it for $55. I had never heard of these before last week but they appear to fetch good prices so I picked this one up when I saw it today. We will see if they actually sell!

The Gene Simmons Bobblehead – paid $4.97 and listed for $45.

The 12 Light Tweety Tree Topper – paid $4.97 and listed for $45.

I found a bunch of snoopy plush at one store – most new with tags and some like new – they were $1.97 each and I listed them for $35 each.

The Reindeer Cabbage Patch kid – almost lost this one to my middle child … she loves Cabbage Patch kids. I paid $1.97 and listed for $35.

The Blues Clues plush – paid $1 and listed for $45.

The Eeyore Kohls Cares Plush – LOVE Khols Cares plush – paid $1.97 and listed for $35.

The C3PO plush – paid $1.97 and listed for $35.

The Musical Animated Eeyore – paid $3.97 and listed for $45.

The duds of the day were the action figures like the Xmen Fireman guy (I found two of these) and the Superman guy that I paid $4.97 for each and will barely break even. If I’m lucky I will make 50 cents each on them but at least I should recoup my money for the mistake.

The Bob the Builder Matching game would have been a good find but once I opened it I found it was missing a lot of cards so I can’t sell it. I paid $2.97.

The bottom line:

Total items listed: 40

Total Buy Cost: $170.94 (expensive day!)

Total Sales Value: $1183.89

Total Net Profit: $716.77

I had to get some grocery orders out this morning before I could start thrifting so I won’t count that in my “hours worked” total. I thrifted from 10am to 1pm and then listed from 2-3:30 and 4:30 to 5:00 making it a grand total of 5 hours working for a potential hourly rate of $143.33 an hour.

I didn’t think it was that good of a day while I was listing it but it turned out to be pretty good after all! See you tomorrow!!
