I ended the week strong with some nice finds at the Savers this morning. It turns out they DO have a toy area but it is on the other side of the store and I hadn’t noticed it. I am starting to like Savers more and more. Definitely much more organized than my local Goodwill’s were in Lancaster!
I didn’t spend a lot of time thrifting today as I had some other things to take care of but I did also manage to pop into a Salvation Army for a very quick trip and found a couple stuffed animals to sell.
The best of what I found today were:
The Slurpee Drink Maker – this is actually brand new in the box but they taped the box lid shut to protect the contents. Because of this I am listing it as Like New and detailed my notes to explain the condition. I paid $6.99 and listed it for $125 (just slightly under what they are going for new).
The Stuffies Blaze Plush – paid $6.99 and listed for $79.95.
The Horton Plush – paid $2.99 and listed for $75 (I’ve sold him before at this price so he should sell again).
The Newlywed Game – paid $3.99 and matched the other FBA price at $49.15.
The Marvel Puzzle – paid $2.99 and listed for $35.
The Wilton Smurf Pan -paid $3.99 and listed for $35.
The Build a Bear Rainbow Dash – paid $1.99 and listed for $35.
The Beanie Balz large Racoon – paid $2.99 and listed for $55.
The Furreal Friends Baby Elephant Daki – I can’t believe that I found two of these in the same week!! I paid $3.99 for this one and listed him for the same $95 as the one from the other day.
I could have made even more from this haul but I am keeping the Gund Boo The Worlds Cutest Dog plush to give my daughter for her birthday on Monday. She is crazy about him and this one is in mint condition. I paid $1.99 for him and could have easily sold him for $55 but he will make her so happy and I couldn’t sell him.
I had the same problem with a couple of Vintage Pyrex bowls I also found this morning at Savers. It is funny because I have been on the lookout for these type of mixing bowls for years and had never seen a single one but today at Savers there were two of them just sitting on a shelf. One is a big yellow mixing bowl and the other is a smaller what they call cinderella mixing bowl with the spring blossom pattern. I paid $6.99 and $7.99 for them and could have easily made $100 in profit between them but as you see they didn’t even make it into the picture. I may eventually part with them but for now those beauties are getting a new home in my kitchen. Yay!!!
The bottom line:
Total items listed: 14
Total buy cost: $50.87
Total Sales Value: $646.83
Total Net Profit: $433.15
I spent about an hour shopping and driving and a half hour listing so this was an especially great haul (even with my hanging onto the three other high value items).
So…all in all a wonderful first week back. I got to check out some new stores and passed by some other smaller ones that I’ll be checking out in the weeks to come. The more I can find in a fairly close vicinity the better my hauls will be.
I listed 51 items this week, spent $182.89 on new inventory, and should net a profit of $1169.01 once they sell. I spent about 7 hours over 4 days shopping and listing which gives me a potential hourly rate of $167.01 and hour.
And with that…. I am on Spring Break. LOL I know I just got started back thrifting but the schools here have off all next week and who am I to argue? I won’t be doing any thrift shopping or posting any hauls for the week but I plan to find a little time to get my printer back up and running (so I can ship all of this new inventory off to Amazon) and get some wholesale orders in so I can start back up that portion of my business. Mostly though I am just looking forward to exploring our new state some with the kids and getting to know the local zoo, aquarium, and other fun things. Yay!
I’ll be back the week after next when the kids start back to school and hoping to thrift most days leading up to summer vacation at the end of June.
See you soon!!!
